Whether in the foothills of suburban Orange County, or rural landscapes of northern California, wildfire seasons have continuously impacted landscapes, forests, and surrounding communities. Hills and Flats imagines a radical reimagination of the suburban condition after the potential impacts of a climate crisis. Could a new culture of living in southern California take shape through re-foresting the suburb?
