The Backyard

In today’s suburban development, private backyard space is limited, therefore residents must find other places in their surrounding neighborhoods to augment their personal space.  The Backyard contains a series of playful mechanisms that originate from the home itself.

By deconstructing the home, the goal is to promote the concept of shared public space, therefore turning elements of the home into shared amenities.  The Backyard emphasizes the historical use of the American backyard, and brings guests to the heart of the open space corridor.
